SALINA, Kan. — It took until regionals for the Buhler girls bowling team to lose a meet. Still, the Crusaders finished second at Wednesday’s regional in Salina, punching a ticket to the state meet.

Salina South won the meet with a score of 3,198. Buhler shot a team total of 2,801. The Crusaders were led by Mary Chambers, who finished third with a 592 series. Adria Huiett finished eighth with a 524 and McKinley Cross was right behind her in ninth with a 523.

For the boys, it was a bit of a long day as the Crusaders settled for seventh place. Malachi Fabian led the way with a 569 series. That was good enough for 18th place.

The class 1-5A state meet is Thursday, Feb. 28, at North Rock Lanes in Wichita.
