TOPEKA – A 65-year-old Greenwood County man has been sentenced to federal prison for manufacturing and possessing incendiary bombs.

Alfred C. Dutton of Eureka was sentenced to 21-months in federal prison. Dutton pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of unregistered destructive devices. In his plea, he admitted that on Aug. 23, 2011, investigators served a search warrant at Outback Storage Building, 209 Oak, in Eureka, Kan. In the storage unit, which was leased to Dutton, they found five incendiary bombs.

Dutton’s lawyer told the court that Dutton was preparing for the end of the world as we know it. Dutton collected medical supplies, non-perishable foods and clothing because he believed the world economy was on the verge of collapse.
