HUTCHINSON — Significant personnel changes are coming to the Hutchinson Fox Theatre. Executive Director Josh Davies announced Tuesday he is stepping down from his position as soon as a replacement can be found.

Davies says he will stay on as technical director, a position he held for 15 years before assuming both roles about five years ago. Davies went before the theater’s board of directors requesting the change.

Davies said holding two positions was taking a toll on him and his family, and he wanted to return to a more “behind the scenes” role. Davies said it was a tough decision to make.

A search committee has been formed and the theater hopes to have a new executive director in place in the next month or so. Davies said once that position has been filled, the job of development director currently held by Mitch Hixson will be eliminated.
