Update: One person injured after head-on semi crash in McPherson Co.

GALVA — One person was injured in an accident just after 9 a.m. Thursday in McPherson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pickup driven by 68-year-old Michael Kotria, Welmar, Texas, was eastbound on U.S. 56 one mile east of Galva.

The pickup traveled left of center and struck a semi driven by 65-year-old Earl Toews, Galva, head-on.

Kotrla was transported to the hospital in McPherson. Toews was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.

MCPHERSON COUNTY —First responders are on the scene of a head-on crash on U.S. 56 between Canton and Galva, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The pickup driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The semi driver was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The KHP will released additional details following an investigation by their Critical Highway Accident Response Team.
