RENO COUNTY — Five people were injured in an accident just after 4 p.m. Tuesday in Reno County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pickup driven by 25-year-old Brent David Crawley, of Newton, was westbound on U.S. 50 at Woodberry Road three miles west of Burrton.
The driver attempted to pass two vehicles and struck an SUV driven by 36-year-old Jose Dimas-Martinez, of Newton, head-on
Crawley was transported to Wesley Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition. Dimas-Martinez and three passengers, 51-year-old Jesus Felix-Alvarado, 33-year-old Carlos Diaz, and 50-year-old Juventino Monsivias-Santana, all of Newton were transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Crawley was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP
