RENO COUNTY — Emergency crews worked a rollover accident just before 11p.m. Wednesday in Reno County.

A vehicle driven by Andrew Rush was traveling in the area of K96 and Worthington, according the Reno County Sheriff’s department. The vehicle road, struck a KDOT mile marker and the driver overcorrected. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled 5 to 6 times and came to rest on the roof.

Rush had minor injuries to his left elbow and a small cut on the top of his head. Rush was treated at the scene but declined transport. Rush was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to the sheriff’s department.

There were two individuals who witnessed the accident, according to the sheriff’s department.

The first witness stated that he saw Rush’s vehicle pass him, and then approximately one mile later it entered the right ditch, overcorrected to the left, crossing the center line, and then overturning and coming to a rest on the roof.

The second witness stated he was traveling north bound on K96 towards Hutchinson when he witnessed a white Ford vehicle overturning, and coming to a rest on the roof. The witness said he came to a stop and saw the driver trying to unbuckle his seatbelt. Once the witness came up to the scene the driver had already exited the vehicle.

Rush left the scene with his mother, in her vehicle.
