Emma (Yutzy) Nisly, 84, of Hutchinson, died May 17, 2019. She was born January 17, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Eli N. and Fannie (Miller) Yutzy. On November 17, 1955, Emma married Harley Nisly in Hutchinson. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons and four daughters: Duane and wife Ruth, Pital, Costa Rica, Christina Barkman and husband James, Kisumu, Kenya, Janet Shetler and husband James, Hutchinson, Dwight and wife Marlene, Brooklyn, NY, Linda Miller and husband Arno, and Doris Yoder and husband Matthew, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Elizabeth Nisly and husband William, and Laura Yutzy, all of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Alta Yutzy, Hutchinson; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Herman, John, and Raymond; a sister, Alma Fern Beachy; and an infant grandson, Nathan Edward Nisly.
Emma accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in her youth and faithfully served her Master until death. She was a homemaker and member of Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church. Emma loved to make quilt tops for several local church sewing circles. She was a behind-the-scenes-servant in supporting her husband’s prison ministry and encouraging people with letters and handmade cards. Emma was a faithful prayer warrior for her children and church family.
The funeral service celebrating her life and home-going will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Cedar Crest Church, 7213 W. Mills Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastors Don Miller, Lee Nisly, and Duane Nisly officiating. Burial will be in West Center Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, also at the church.
