MT. HOPE – A 75-year-0ld Wichita man was taken to the hospital after the vehicle he was in collided with a vehicle driven by a Nickerson man.
Robert Bishop was transported to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. He was a passenger in the vehicle driven by 62-year-old Tena Bishop, also of Wichita.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Tena Bishop and another driven by 67-year-old Paul Chinn of Nickerson were both westbound on K-96. Bishop’s vehicle was in the left lane, while Chinn’s was in the left. Bishop apparently attempted to make a right turn onto 279th Street West from the left lane and was then struck by Chinn’s vehicle.
Neither Tena Bishop of Chinn were injured in the crash which occurred around 1:20 p-m Wednesday afternoon in Mt. Hope.
All three were wearing their seat-belts according to the report.
