Minor fire at Kuhn-Krause facility Tuesday morning causes brief evacuation

Hutchinson Fire Units were called to the Kuhn-Krause facility on south Monroe just before 11 a-m this morning on the report of smoke and possibly fire in one of their buildings. Its turns out it was one of the machines they use.

Hutchinson Fire Inspector L-D Peeveyhouse says a machine that collects the metal dust has filters that caught on fire, and the had fireman get the machine set up so when they opened it, it wouldn’t flare up.

There was no danger really to employees working in the big blue building kind on the middle of the property, but they did evacuate the building as a precaution.
