HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local man has been charged with a felony involving the touching of an 18-year-old, however, the crime occurred last year.

Joe Webster is charged with aggravated sexual battery for the incident that allegedly occurred on Sept. 30, 2018. The state says the crime may have occurred while Webster was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The charge is a level five person felony with a sentencing range of 2 ½ years to over 11 years in prison depending on his criminal history.

Webster will be back in court next month.
