HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 20-year-old man is jailed on a number of charges after he allegedly fired a weapon around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. He caused damage to vehicles, a TV inside an apartment building, and also the apartment building itself.

Jacob Warrington faces criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling, two felony counts of criminal damage to property and one misdemeanor count of criminal damage. He was also arrested for suspicion of unlawful discharge of a weapon in the city and being a minor in consumption of alcohol.

It happened in the 700 block of North Monroe when a person reported her car had as many as 17 bullet holes. Police arrived and found Warrington passed out on the lawn with a long rifle across his body. They also found three other weapons nearby.

Officers also discovered that one of bullets went through the apartment building and damaged a television. According to statements, the apartment building had 11 bullet holes in it.

Warrington is jailed on a $7,600 bond and should be back in court July 12.
