Saturday’s game against El Dorado Broncos was a heartbreaker for Hutchinson Monarchs (15-9), as they lost the lead late in a 5-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with El Dorado Broncos batting in the bottom of the eighth when Tanner White doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

El Dorado Broncos opened up scoring in the second inning. An error scored one run for El Dorado Broncos.
El Dorado Broncos knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Cooper Elliot singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Hutchinson Monarchs tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Hutchinson Monarchs batters contributing to the big inning included Jackson Loftin and Keith Wolverton, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Josh Young was on the pitcher’s mound for El Dorado Broncos. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero.
Zach Philbin toed the rubber for Hutchinson Monarchs. He went five and a third innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven. Noah Kelley threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
