HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The HutchCC Board of Trustees heard a report on the proposed budget for the next fiscal year at its July meeting.

Julie Blanton, Vice President of Finance and Operations, presented the college’s 2019-2020 budget proposal at the meeting.

There is the expectation of increased state funding to go along with a planned tuition increase of $2 per credit hour. For Reno County residents, the $10 per credit hour reduction remains in place. County valuation is slated to increase by 1.39%, allowing the college to budget a .6% reduction of its mill levy for the coming fiscal year. Since 2010, the general levy has been lowered by approximately 2 mills and is the lowest it has been in the last 10 years.

In additional business, the board approved payment of college bills, approved the academic catalog for the 2019-20 school year and set meeting dates for the coming year.

The next meeting of the board will be on Thursday, Aug. 8. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Shears Technology Center Justice Theater. The public is invited to attend.
