Hutch Monarchs punch their ticket to the NBC World Series in extra innings Tuesday

WICHITA, Kan. – The Hutchinson Monarchs kept knocking on the door in the the 7th, 8th and 9th inning before finally getting the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Wichita Sluggers to punch their ticket to the 2019 NBC World Series that opens in Wichita at Eck Stadium on July 27th. The final score, 6-5 in extra innings!

Hutchinson stranded a runner at 3rd in the 7th, but had pulled within 1 run at 5-4.  Then the Sluggers walked in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning at 5-5.

Hutchinson stalled with a runner on 1st base in the bottom of the 9th, then in the bottom of the 10th, the Sluggers walked the bases loaded with 2 out.  Taylor Barber the DH, put the ball in play in the infield and the Sluggers 1st baseman was pulled off the bag to allow Barber to be called safe.  Easton Rindt scored from 3rd.

The Hutchinson Monarchs are going to the NBC World Series which will be played in Wichita at Eck Stadium beginning on July 27th.
