HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It usually sells out, but as for now, there are a number of spots available for this year’s Salty Dog and Salty Pup triathlons Aug. 10 in Carey Park.

According to Hutch Rec, 22 openings are available for the adult race and 45 spots are available for the children’s race. Register online at hutchrec.com or in person at Hutch Rec at 17 E. 1st.

The Salty Dog and Salty Pup are sprint triathlons with the youth racing in a 100-meter swim; 4.2-mile bike; 1-mile run; and the adults racing in a 400-meter swim; 10.5-mile bike; and 5K run.

All participants receive race shirts plus medals at the finish line. The race is chip-timed for official results and the chance to win an age-group award.
