HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council is ready to take action to limit truck parking along two city streets during Tuesday’s agenda session.

The Council will go over a resolution which would ban all tractor-trailer rigs from parking along E. 20th from Lorraine to Waldron streets and along Fountainwood from 20th to 23rd Avenue. The area is located north of Trinity Catholic HighSchool and west of the Hospital and medical campus.

The Council has long considered parking restrictions along the two streets but has now decided this is the time to enforce it.

Also Tuesday, the Council will hold its first discussion on the search for city manager. John Deardoff announced that he would retire in the spring. The council will go over what avenues they want to take which could include doing the search using the city’s resources, or send out a request for proposals to various firms to find potential candidates.

The latter is what the Council Commission is considering as they look for a replacement for Council Administrator Gary Meagher who is retiring at the end of the year.
