ROSWELL, New Mexico – It was a tough 2019 opening day for the Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team.

First, Pima College defeated the Blue Dragon, 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-23), in the first match of the NMMI Classic at New Mexico Military Institute.

After splitting the first two sets with New Mexico Military on Friday night, the Broncos dominated the final two sets in a 3-1 win over the Blue Dragons (22-25, 25-21, 10-25, 14-25).

Hutchinson will play South Mountain at 11 a.m. (CT) and Odessa College at 3 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.

Because of technical difficulties, there were no statistics available from Friday’s matches. A follow-up release will be posted when we have the statistics.
