Sharon Nitzsche | 1941 – 2019 |

Sharon Nitzsche, 78, of Hutchinson, died, September 15, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1941, to William ‘Brownie’ and Eloise (Sharits) Amerine.

Sharon graduated from Turon High school in 1959. She worked for many years for the City of Turon as a librarian and city clerk.  Sharon loved her community and was very involved there. She was a dedicated EMS volunteer for many years. Sharon loved to read and collect wolves.

In October 1959, she married Dennis Ralph ‘Denny’ Nitzsche in Attica. They shared 47 years of marriage before his death on July 27, 2007.

Sharon is survived by daughter, Diana Skomal and husband Tim, Langdon; son, John Nitzsche, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Meghan Smith and husband Quanah, Oklahoma, Chelsea Penner and husband Ryan, Hutchinson, Morgan Cook and husband Trey, Iowa, and Tyler Skomal, Tennessee; sister, Vicki Wells, Dodge City; and brother, Bill Amerine, Kingman.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denny Nitzsche; granddaughter, Ashley Nitzsche.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Turon Community Church, Turon, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Turon Cemetery.  Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 through October 1, 2019.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Sharon Nitzsche Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
