HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson USD 308 School Board approved changes in an agreement with Hutchinson Community College Monday for upkeep at two facilities both entities use.

The district and Hutchinson Community College are the primary users of Gowans Stadium on the HutchCC campus and the district-owned Salthawk Sports Complex near 23rd and Severance.

In the past, the district has hired its own staff to clean up after events at Gowans while HutchCC did not contribute to the maintenance costs of the Salthawk Sports Complex.

Monday’s agreement has HutchCC paying for 30% of the maintenance costs on the Salthawk Sports Complex, or about $15,000 for the current year. HutchCC, in turn, will charge USD 308 for cleanup of Gowans, estimated at $7,740 for 2019-20.
