LIBERAL – A nine-year-old Liberal boy was killed after he was run over by a semi in that city Friday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Caleb Garcia was riding his bike southbound on New York Street approaching U-S highway 54, and failed to yield to a westbound semi, driven by 40-year-old Elizabeth Sturdivant. The boy was run over by the semi and killed instantly.

The accident occurring just before 6 p-m, at the intersection of U-S 54, and New York Street in Liberal.
