Thornton Lewis ‘Todd’ White, aka ‘Rooster’, 83, took his final lap around the race track for the checkered flag on October 3, 2019. He was born October 22, 1935, in Wichita, to Thomas and Thelma (Tracy) White. Todd grew up in Belmont and moved to Hutchinson in his early adulthood, where he resided until his death. From the age of 17 until retirement, he worked in the grain industry. Todd’s life was full of adventure and he touched the hearts of so many people.
In 1953, Todd married Patty Wells and they had four children. In 1981, he married Beverly Culver. She survives.
Also surviving are: children, Debbie (Mike) Zarnowski, Marsha (Jim) Barnes, Rick (Rondi) Caywood, all of Hutchinson, Julie (Wes) Cooper, Houston, TX; siblings, Lonnie (Betty) Tracy, Diana Samuelson, all of Wichita; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sons, Ty and Hoby; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Gerald and Merle.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, at First United Methodist, 101 E. 1st Ave., with Pastor Mic McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
