HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Community Foundation and the Reno County Entrepreneurship Task Force have been pushing entrepreneurship in the city in an effort to help start new small businesses.

An event set for next week may help those seeking information on starting a business. The task force and SCORE will host new and veteran entrepreneurs for an Entrepreneurship Connections meetup.

The event is set for Oct. 21 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sandhills Brewing, 111 W. 2nd Ave., Suite D. The Reno County Entrepreneurship Task Force and SCORE Mentors are sponsors. The event is aimed at providing information and stoking energy around local entrepreneurship.

Daniel Friesen, founder of Buhler-based IdeaTek, and Jerrod Reimer, president and CEO, will discuss their experiences as local business leaders. Current and potential entrepreneurs and business experts will then have the chance to network and share insights.
