GREAT BEND – The sentencing for a 39-year-old Great Bend man found guilty of murder in the killing of a 14-year-old cheerleader will now be held on June 26. It had been scheduled for June 8, but was continued by Barton County District Judge Judge Hannelore Kitts

Adam Longoria was convicted of Capital Murder for the August 2010 death of Alicia DeBolt. However, the state is not seeking the death penalty, rather a life sentence with no chance of ever getting parole.

The teen disappeared the weekend before she was due to start her freshman year at high school. Text messages show she thought she was going to a party. Her remains were found three days later, burned beyond recognition.

Longoria’s team tried to point the finger at others who could have been involved in the killing, but the jury believed it was Longoria who committed the crime.

Again, the sentencing date is now set for June 26.
