HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local woman has been formally charged by the state with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Melissa Everett is accused of putting another woman in fear of her safety with a handgun. This allegedly occurred Oct. 21.

Everett is free on bond. She will be back in court Nov. 27.
