TOPEKA, Kan. – The KSHSAA has released the upcoming playoff brackets and seeds.  List here are some of the local area teams and their opponents for the playoffs that start on Nov. 1st.  For a full list of brackets, go to kshsaa.org.

The Hutchinson Salthawks ( 2-6 ) will travel to Manhattan (7-1) in the first round of the Class 6A postseason playoffs Friday Nov. 1. The winner of that game will advance on Nov. 8 to meet the winner of the Lawrence-Free State ( 7-1 ) vs. Wichita South ( 3-5 ) contest. There are five rounds in the 6A playoffs. The state championship game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. in Emporia.

Buhler (6-2) will host Wellington in 4A.  The winner of that game will advance on Nov. 8 to meet the winner of the Mulvane ( 4-4 ) vs. Independence ( 2-6) contest. The state championship game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. in Topeka at the Hummer Sports Complex.

In other 4A first round games, McPherson (8-0) will play host to Abilene (0-8) while Nickerson (4-4) will travel to Colby (8-0).

In 3A, Andale (8-0) hosts Clay Center Community HS (6-2).  Hesston (7-1) hosts Clearwater (6-3) while Halstead (8-0) hosts Wichita Collegiate (5-3). The 3A State Championship game is hosted by Hutchinson Community College and played at Gowans Stadium.

In the 2A bracket, Hutchinson Trinity Catholic (4-4) will travel to Eureka (5-3) while Garden Plain (8-0) plays host to Fredonia (4-4).  Sterling (4-4) will travel to Norton (5-3). The 2A state championship game is at Salina Stadium in Salina on Nov. 30th.

Inman (4-4) will host Johnson-Stanton County (1-7) in the 1A bracket while Hutchinson-Central Christian (7-1) will host Ingalls (4-4) in the 8 Man Div. II playoff bracket. In 8-Man Div. I, Little River (7-1) hosts Montezuma-South Gray (5-3). The 1A state championship is hosted by Fort Hays State while 8-Man Div. 1 and 2 are hosted by Newton High School.
