TOPEKA (AP) – A Republican member of the Kansas House says a Democratic prosecutor’s investigators seemed frustrated they couldn’t get more information from him during questioning about private meetings lawmakers had with GOP Gov. Sam Brownback.

Rep. Anthony Brown of Eudora was questioned for an hour Thursday by two members of Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor’s staff.

Taylor subpoenaed Brown and six other GOP legislators as part of an investigation into seven dinner meetings Brownback had for legislators in January at Cedar Crest, his official residence.

Brown says he can’t remember much about the events he attended, but said the gatherings were social events. Assistant Attorney General Mike Smith attended the interview. He’s representing legislators.

Taylor’s staff also questioned Sen. Bob Marshall, a Fort Scott Republican, for more than an hour.
