HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Staff from Hutchinson Magnet School at Allen will host an open forum Saturday to discuss redesign efforts for the school.
The forum will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the school — 403 W. 10th Ave. During the come-and-go event, parents and the public are invited to share their ideas with teachers and staff about empowering students through design process thinking.
Hutchinson Magnet School at Allen and Wiley Elementary School are two of the district’s schools involved in the redesign process.
The Kansas State Board of Education said that schools need to place an equal amount of focus on helping students develop non-academic skills, such as social-emotional growth, as they do on developing academic skills. This vision calls for a more student-focused system that provides support and resources for individual success.
