HARDTNER – The investigation over a homicide in the small Barber County town of Hardtner has been taken over by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, according to officials with the Barber County Sheriff’s Office.

Meanwhile, no new information has been released about the shooting death of 31-year-old Tony Rosenbaum at a home in the 300 block of North Main. Law Enforcement officials continue to investigate, and have been doing some interviews according to County Attorney Richard Raleigh.

Raleigh had also been in contact with the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, but they have not officially gotten involved in the case thus far.

The case starts with the Barber County Sheriff’s Officials were first dispatched to the home just before 12:30 a-m, on June 12. Deputies and troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol responded, but about that time, there was another call to Barber County dispatch reporting that a woman had been shot at the same residence. It was determined that her injuries were not life threatening. She was taken to a Kiowa hospital.

The Highway Patrol Special Response Team was called in and made entry into the home around 8 a-m, Tuesday morning and found the body of Rosenbaum.
