After Charles Christopher Logsdon refused to waive speedy trial rights earlier this month, while being arraigned on a charge of aggravated intimidation of a witness, Judge Trish Rose moved the trial date up to August 13. But, as expected, Logsdon now agreed to waive his speedy trial rights and the trial date is now back on September 24.

Back on June 6, Logsdon attorney, Michael Brown stated they would agree to waive that right. But, then as Judge Trish Rose started to explain the rights to Logsdon, he then spoke with his attorney and decided he wouldn’t waive that right. Brown, told the judge, “we’re back to square one,” we won’t waive the right after all. But, apparently that changed again, so were back to the September date.

The state also informed the defense that they would be getting a computer file that includes the entire police data-base on the case, which should be ready in a couple of weeks.

Logsdon along with co-defendant Billy Craig, Jr., are charged with the murder of Jennifer Heckel last summer. Other charges against the two include conspiracy to commit first degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Logsdon is also charged with aggravated intimidation of a witness for allegedly threatening another inmate, Matthew Mounce.

So, once again, the trial date is back to September 24, with a motion deadline of July 31.
