Hutch man charged with marijuana distribution in court Friday for pre-trial conference

A 39-year-old Hutchinson man charged in an alleged marijuana distribution case is expected in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing.

Joseph Kelly of 629 West 17th is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package for distribution and no tax stamp.

The Reno County Drug Enforcement Unit did a search of his home back on February 7, and he allegedly admitted there was marijuana in his home, both in the kitchen and the bedroom. Officers say they found numerous individual bags of marijuana.

Kelly is free on a 7-thousand dollar bond and the hearing Friday is scheduled in front of Judge Trish Rose, but as always, these scheduled hearings are subject to change.
