Accident near old Navy base sends one to a Wichita hospital
Reno County E-M-S and Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 1705 S. Langley Rd, this is just east of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, for the report of a fall.
The victim, 53-year-old, Joe B. Logan III, was working at an old pool to the east of the center when he bent over to grab a piece of wood and lost his balance and fell about 15-to-20 feet to the concrete floor.
He was transported by Midwest Lifeteam helicopter to Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for a possible broken arm and was also complaining of some back pain, and reportedly had a small cut to his forehead.
Workers were trying to replace a wood covering over the abandoned pool left over from the Navy base days when Logan fell.
