The fire that destroyed a Hutchinson fireman’s home early Friday morning is still under investigation according to fire officials, but they also indicated that they are leaning towards the fire being caused by something electrical.

The fire broke out just after 6 a-m at 1303 13th Terrace. Battalion Chief Mike Miller says the fire appears to have started in an attached garage and it was fully involved with fire and spread quickly through out the house itself. The first units entered the front door of the home and encountered heavy fire in the attic of the home. They were able to bring it under control and again the investigation is continuing.

The house belonged to Hutchinson Fireman Justin Holzrichter who was one of the first on the scene. There were no injuries, but the house is a total loss.

Holzrichter is a four year veteran of the Hutchinson Fire Department and a fund has been set up in his name at the Hutchinson Government Employees Credit Union. If you can help this Hutchinson Fireman out, please consider making a donation to that fund.
