Hutchinson Man Injured In Early Morning Accident

A Hutchinson man was airlifted to a Wichita hospital after a motorcycle accident early Tuesday morning.

Reno County E-M-S and the Reno County sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an area of 4th and Hodge Road around 4:30 a-m. When deputies arrived, they found the driver, 59-year-old David Sallee, of Hutchinson, lying in the west bound lane of 4th and his 2004 Harley Davidson in the east bound lane.

A person riding with Sallee, Jeremy May told deputies, the pair were trying to avoid a deer in the ditch when Sallee lost control of the bike and laid it over.

Sallee was transported by Eagle Med helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, with severe leg injuries and lacerations, he was not wearing a helmet.
