Jeff White Wins Dillon’s Award

Dillon’s recognized Jeff White, Meat Market Manager, as the 2011 winner of the Kroger Community Service Award for the Dillon Stores Division.

Dillon’s selected White to receive the award because of his dedicated through community service. He worked at Dillon’s for more than 15-years and is actively involved with Guardians of the Children, an advocacy group focused on raising awareness for abused and neglected children. Along with this service, he also supports fund raising efforts and escorts children to court hearings to make the process less intimidating.

White also coaches the Hutch Blue Hawks, a Special Olympics co-ed basketball team and coaches a Special Olympics track and field team as well.

Along with a celebration in his honor, representatives from Dillon’s will also present White with a recognition certificate and a $500 donation to Guardians of the Children, in acknowledgment of his volunteer spirit.

In 1983, the Kroger Community Service Award was created to recognize outstanding volunteer efforts by individual employees throughout the Kroger divisions and manufacturing facilities. Employees are nominated through an annual survey of volunteerism and community service, and then each division selects one winner for the distinctive acknowledgment.
