First National Bank of Hutchinson is expanding. The 1st made application with The Comptroller of the Currency for approval of a proposed merger with First National Bank of Southern Kansas, in Mount Hope. The anticipated date for merging the banks is late September 2012. Between now and the merger date, management and staffs of both organizations expect a seamless transition.
Following the merger, the Mount Hope, Andale and Goddard locations of First National Bank of Southern Kansas will be operated as branches of First National Bank of Hutchinson. Plans are to initially retain the same branch hours at the three locations.
The merger will give customers of both organizations access to a total of ten locations and ten ATMs (six locations and five ATMs in Hutchinson; plus one each in Haven, Mount Hope and Goddard, and two ATMs in Andale.)
First National Bank of Southern Kansas started in 1888 and became the First National Bank in 1900. It added the “Southern Kansas” portion of its name following the building of two branch offices in Andale in 1997 and Goddard in 2000. Total assets for the bank is approximately 62-million dollars with deposits at around 55 million dollars.
