A 24-year-old Hutchinson man appeared via video in Judge Tim Chambers courtroom for a pre-trial hearing on three counts of rape and three alternate counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Salvador Araujo-Gutierrez will face trial on the charges on August 28, at least as it stands now, however, his wife is apparently pregnant and is due about that same time, and she is expected to be called as a witness, so that could delay the trial.
The alleged sexual abuse occurring over a period of time starting in 2006, with the last occurring back in 2011. The incidents occurring when the child was first 7-years-old and continued till she was 11.
All of the charges are Jessica’s Law charges meaning that Araujo-Gutierrez could be looking at multiple life sentences.
A motion deadline was also set in the case for July 30.
