A 28-year-old Hutchinson man arrested back on January 14 after a traffic stop and found to be in possession of a number of drugs entered pleas in the case Tuesday.

Maurice Davis of 2106 North Jackson entered pleas and was found guilty of possession of cocaine, marijuana and hydrocodone, all with intent to sell, one count of no tax stamp, possession of drug proceeds, and DUI.

He was stopped by Hutchinson Police in the 1100 block of North K-61, after an officer observed him driving northbound in the southbound lanes. After the officer made the traffic stop, he could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle. Davis then allegedly failed an alcohol and field sobriety test and allegedly had an alcohol content of “0.159.” He was then arrested for DUI.

During a subsequent search, the officer says he located a small plastic baggy which contained marijuana, as well as another bag that contained several pieces of white hard substance that tested positive for crack cocaine, and a third bag that contained pills later identified as hydrocodone. All of the items were found behind the drivers seat of his GMC pickup on the floor. He was then also arrested on the drug charges.

Sentencing in the case is set for August 10.
