WICHITA – Bank robbery charges were filed in federal court Friday against a 42-year-old Wichita man.

Terry L. Webb is now charged with one count of bank robbery. The complaint alleged that on July 14, Webb robbed the Emprise Bank, 6030 E. Central in Wichita. He entered the bank about 9:30 a-m, approached a teller and said, “I need $15,000.” He put the money in a manila envelope and left the bank on foot.

After a surveillance photo of the robbery was made public, Wichita police received numerous tips identifying Webb as the robber. He was arrested at his home July 19. Investigators learned that he spent part of the money to pay three months back rent and hid the rest on top of a carport at an abandoned house near his residence.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20-years in federal prison and a fine up
to $250,000.
