Two More Cases of Church Break Vandalism in Hutchinson

The rash of break ins at Hutchinson churches continued overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Police report that the Trinity United Methodist Church was broken into again. It’s the second time in a week that church has been victimized by thieves.

Police say the burglars tried to enter the building through the same area as earlier in the week. Nothing was taken. Would be thieves also broke into the 1st Congressional Church on North Plum around 1 O’clock Monday morning.

The suspects tried to enter the building by breaking some glass next to a door. The churches alarm system sounded and police were on the scene very quickly but no one was in the building and nothing was taken. Damage was limited to the small window.

The two break in’s bring the total number of such incidents to 8 involving 7 different churches.
