Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson is advising residents in the area of the Homefield Housing Addition, located a 1/2 mile south of 4th on Obee Road in Reno County, to be alerted, because there have been 5-auto burglaries reported in that area between midnight Thursday July 26th and 6 a-m, Friday July 27.

Missing are small items like CD’s, but also a handgun. All of these have been from unlocked vehicles.

He says all residents in Reno County should make sure your car doors are locked and kept in a garage with the doors shut if possible, but at least, make sure they are locked. He says residents are making things too easy for thieves.

He also attempted to put out a Code Red Alert for this area to alert residents, however he went ahead and did a 1 mile radius from the area of the auto burglaries and the map came up that no calls would be made because no one in this area was signed up in the program.
