A 74-year-old Nova Scotia, Canada woman was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after the vehicle she was in was struck from behind by another vehicle east of Haven.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Elizabeth Frothingham of Halifax, Nova Scotia was westbound on K-96 traveling in the outside lane well below the posted speed limit.

A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Christopher Mailloux of Haven came from behind and apparently didn’t notice how slow Frothingham was driving until it was to late and crashed into her vehicle. He was not injured, but Frothingham was transported by EMS to the hospital for treatment.

The accident occurring around 11:45 p-m Wednesday night, about two and half miles east of Haven.
