PLAINS – A 2-year-old child was killed Friday evening in Meade County when he was struck by a pickup Friday evening.

Dead is Konner Wilkerson of Plains, Kansas. He was struck by the pickup driven by 59-year-old John Lawrence Ranals of Florence, Colorado.

Ranals was northbound on Erie Street in the town of Plains, when the child darted out in front of his vehicle and was struck. The father of the child was at the scene when the accident occurred.

Ranals was not injured in the accident which occurred just after 7 p-m Friday evening.
