JUNCTION CITY – Bond has been set at $250,000 in Geary County District Court for 33-year-old Sterling D. Hickman, of Junction City.
Hickman was arrested Saturday on suspicion of murder in the first degree and aggravated battery. The arrest followed an early Saturday morning shooting outside the National Guard Armory.
25-year-old Antonio Maxwell was shot in the neck and died while 30-year-old Jamaica Chism was shot and wounded in the stomach area.
A check with the Geary County Attorney’s Office reveals status and preliminary hearings for Hickman have been scheduled August 28 in Geary County District Court. A public defender has been appointed to represent him.
