First National Bank of Hutchinson received notification that The Comptroller of the Currency has approved a proposal to merge First National Bank of Southern Kansas with the Hutchinson bank, effective September 24.

Management and staff of both organizations have been working daily toward the merger. “First National Bank of Southern Kansas customers have been sent several letters with details on the merger. Communication will continue in the next few weeks. For most customers, there is little, if any, action they need to take to prepare for the merger. We continue to anticipate a seamless transition.” said Keith Hughes, CEO of The First.

Following the merger, the current Mount Hope, Andale and Goddard locations of FNBSK will be operated as branches of The First.
