A 32-year-old woman was taken to a Wichita hospital after a two vehicle accident in the county Sunday evening. Monica Murray who was a passenger in one of the vehicles had to be extricated and flown to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for treatment.
The accident occurred with a 2011 Toyota, driven by 59-year-old Russell Farris Jr., of Hutchinson was southbound on Kent Rd, and failed to yield to a westbound vehicle on 43rd. That vehicle was driven by 49-year-old Steven Murry, of Buhler. The Farris vehicle struck the left side of Murray’s vehicle, sending it into a barb wire fence on the southwest corner.
Farris had some minor injuries but refused transport. Murray was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with non life threatening injuries. Franklin Murry, was in a car seat and was not injured.
All occupants were wearing seat belts.
