LANSING – The inmate who escaped from a northeast Kansas prison is back in custody according officials with the Kansas Department of Corrections.

They tell us that at 11:20 a-m Friday morning, Special Enforcement Officers of the Kansas Department of Corrections and U- S Marshals apprehended 33-year-old Ronny Dale Peters in the Gardner area, which is near Kansas City.

Peters escaped from Lansing Correctional Facility’s Minimum Custody Unit on Wednesday.
The investigation surrounding his escape is still under investigation and details are not be released at this time for security reasons.

Peters was serving time for drugs and a domestic battery conviction. However, he has also served time in the past for aggravated battery, possession of drugs, theft and burglary. All of the convictions out of Johnson County.

Additional criminal charges against Peters are pending at this time.
