Hutchinson Police have released the name of the person killed in the accident which occurred just before 8:30 a-m, Wednesday morning in 2900 Block of East 4th.

71-year-old Janice Stricker was operating her 2001 Dodge Neon westbound on 4th, and crossed center line striking a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am operated by 27-year-old Janette R. Valdois head on. Stricker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Valdois was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for possible leg injuries. Two juvenile passengers in her vehicle were checked by medical personnel and released to a parent on scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, however, there was some thought that she may have had some type of medical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
