South Hutchinson Police have released the names of the victims in Sunday’s murder suicide case in South Hutchinson.

The bodies of Paul B. Cooper 42 years of age and Sarah J. Cooper 41 years of age, were found inside the residence.

Police officials say the investigation quickly determined that it was a case of murder-suicide. The couple had been arguing into the early morning hours where Paul Cooper then shot and killed his wife with a high powered rifle and then turned the gun on himself.

It was 2:30 a-m when South Hutchinson Police Officers and Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of gunshots at the residence of 229 E. C, in South Hutchinson. They then discovered the two victims inside.

South Hutchinson Police Chief Scott Jones says a stash of weapons were found in the home and were seized for safe keeping.
