WICHITA – A worker who suffered a fatal fall at Spirit AeroSystems has been identified as a 26-year-old Wichita man.

Sedgwick County sheriff’s officials in a news release identified the victim as Matt Lyons, who worked at the aircraft plant for more than five years.

Authorities said Lyons suffered a fractured skull Monday afternoon when he fell about 12-feet onto concrete. He later died at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Spirit AeroSystems officials said they would work with Kansas agencies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigating the accident.
