Governor, A-G And Other Dignitaries Celebrate 4-G Service in Hutchinson and McPherson

Governor Sam Brownback and Attorney General Derek Schmidt were those in attendance Tuesday as Verizon Wireless celebrated adding 4-G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network in Hutchinson.

The Governor also talked about the investment the company has made in Kansas and says that is part of the reason he wanted to be in Hutchinson for the event.

Brenden Fallis, the Verizon Wireless Region President for Kansas and Missouri, says that they serve more markets and residents in the state then all of their competitors combined. That also includes more than 75-percent of the U.S. population in 371 markets.

With the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE launch in Hutchinson, customers who visit or live in Hutchinson, South Hutchinson and McPherson will be able to surf the Web, stream live music and video, and stay in touch with family and friends at speeds up to 10 times faster than before.

Also in attendance Monday were State Representative Jan Pauls, State Senator Terry Bruce, Hutchinson Mayor Dave Razo, City Councilwoman Cindy Proett and Sheriff Randy Henderson.
